When the night laments with tears and cries
And wounded hearts howl with loneliness
No respite can be born of the morning
Nor can the dawn of day bring renewal.

Suspicion is the despair of lovers
Anger and reproach a betrayal
Of their infinite passion, their devotion
Of the innocence of their childhood universe.

Deep feelings make for great disputes
They also bury them under kisses
When the uninteresting battle is exhausted
Defeated by the phoenix of past ardor.

Let all lovers remember their fortune
Even on those long and painful days
And remain anchored to the port of Hope
So that the sacred Love may escape the storm.
