With time, love is experienced in slow motion
With distance, memories fade away
Emotions, sensations flee
The void of absence fills up.
The great replacement creates a new life
That’s what my old flame does.
My face is slowly being forgotten
We must kill the past to embrace desire.
Increasingly relegated to a closed drawer
I keep a solitary faith in our contrary stars
And still remember with closed eyes
The sound of music accompanying my bayadere’s dance.
