This is the story of a poet
Who, like all poets, is foolish
He believes in chimeras like love
While everyone knows it’s just a trick
For most people, it’s a joke
That comes and goes, depending on the show.

His clothes are not superb
He’s not attracted to glitter
He doesn’t know how to sell himself, but he knows how to party
In good company, more with the crowd
A pronounced taste for words, a little for the bottle
Funny when he needs to be, always searching for wonders in his head.

Preferring old magic, he is wary
Of modern psychology, a cure for cyclothymia
He’s certainly wrong, but damn stubborn
He finds it hard to believe in the explanation of beauty.

This is the story of a poet who, verse by verse,
Tries to go beyond a winter’s fate
With courage and conviction
Knowing full well that he will not attract attention.

But when one carries this gene within
And has known love that cannot turn to hate
And his beloved loved to be told stories
One wants to continue, even in the dark
And carry to the celestial pinnacle
The beauty of his gestures
The simplicity of our sharing
What remains etched in the ages
That could be a renaissance
And fill us with benevolence.

In the end, this is the story of a poet
Who each day becomes more foolish.
