They were you,
I loved them
They were my perfect friend
Then they became too big

They hid your qualities
Like a barren shadow
Withering the honor of the Cid
Bringing my detested anger.

Before your flaws were charming
They made me laugh so often
I loved your bad faith
Before it destroyed you and me
It was when you were wise
Before you were so flighty
Your flaws made you beautiful
They made you real
I couldn’t give them another name
Other than cute.
